What will I receive with Signature Confirmation™ Service?

You will be provided the following information:

  • Signature and name of the recipient
  • Date, time and location of the delivery
  • Signature Confirmation™ requires that the recipient (or a responsible person at the residence) be present to sign for the item.

Notes:

  • It does not provide USPS Tracking® of mail items.
  • It does not expedite mailing, or provide a guaranteed delivery time.
  • Must be purchased at the time of mailing.
  • No record of a Signature Confirmation service item is maintained at the office of mailing.

How Much Does Signature Confirmation™ Cost?

Fees vary for Signature Confirmation Service, depending on how it was purchased (Retail vs. Electronic). For detailed fee information, go to the Price List - Notice 123 or to https://www.usps.com/ship/insurance-extra-services.htm and click on "Show Details" under Signature Confirmation.

Postage may be paid with ordinary postage stamps, meter stamps or permit imprints.

Retail vs. Electronic price for Signature Confirmation Service

  • The retail fee can be purchased at your local Post Office™. The retail label, PS Form 153, is hot pink with a detachable receipt. To see an image of PS Form 153, click here. Or, you can print online Shipping Labels for Priority Mail service and qualify for the lower-fee electronic option. High-volume shippers can also print their own labels or purchase preprinted labels from the United States Postal Service®.

  • The electronic fee is for mailers who purchase postage online (for example, using Click-N-Ship®) or are capable of sending and receiving electronic files of their shipments.

Whichever fee you choose, you will have access to the same Signature Confirmation features and benefits. To receive a copy of the signature, track your mail item on USPS.com then select Proof of Delivery. Follow the provided directions to receive an email with the delivery details.
