Signature Confirmation™ and Signature Confirmation Restricted Delivery can be combined with:
- Insurance (if less than or equal to $500)
- Collect on Delivery (COD)
- Registered Mail® service
- Hold for Pickup
- Return Receipt (PS Form 3811 only) (if the customer purchases insurance for more than $500, COD, or Registered Mail® service)
Note: Since the Signature Confirmation service provides the ability to request a delivery record, the purchase of a Return Receipt is generally an unnecessary expense.
Signature Confirmation and Signature Confirmation Restricted Delivery cannot be combined with:
- Certified Mail®
- Priority Mail Express (Priority Mail Express items includes signature option)
- USPS Tracking® service (Signature Confirmation provides all of the benefits and more of USPS Tracking)

Fees and payment methods
- Fees vary for Signature Confirmation Service, depending on how it was purchased (Retail vs. Electronic options). For detailed information on fees, go to https://www.usps.com/ship/insurance-extra-services.htm.
- Fees for Signature Confirmation may be paid with ordinary postage stamps (excluding precanceled stamps), meter stamps, PC Postage, or permit imprints.
- Retail vs. Electronic options for Signature Confirmation Service:
- The Retail Fee can be purchased at your local Post Office™. The retail label, PS Form 153, is hot pink with a detachable mailing receipt. You can print online Shipping Labels for Priority Mail service and qualify for the lower-fee electronic option. High-volume shippers can also print their own labels or purchase preprinted labels from the United States Postal Service®.
- The Electronic Fee is for mailers who purchase postage online (for example, using Click-N-Ship®) and privately print an electronic Signature Confirmation label.

Accessing delivery information
- Tracking Signature Confirmation En Route - While en route, scans may be provided when available. They are not a feature of Signature Confirmation service.
- Delivery Status Availability - Status is available the evening of the date of delivery or attempted delivery, similar to USPS Tracking® service.
- Delivery information will be available for one year from the delivery date. A complete delivery record--including signature image--can be requested two to three days after delivery.
