What is Adult Signature Required?
- Adult Signature Required is a service that ensures that the recipient of the mail items is at least 21 years of age or above. The recipient or a resident of the recipient’s address is required to show a form of photo identification to the delivery employee for age confirmation. This ensures that the sender of the mailpiece did not give the item to an underage person.
- Please note that there is also another service, Adult Signature Restricted Delivery, that requires the signature of an adult 21 years of age or older, but the signature of the addressee is required. For more information on this service, go to the What is Adult Signature Restricted Delivery? FAQ.
- Note: Prior to delivery, the recipient is required to show a government issued photo identification for proof of age and, in some cases, identity.
What will I receive?
- The customer will be provided the signature and name of the recipient, along with the date, time and location of the delivery.
- Note:
- It does not provide Tracking or Tracing of mail items
- It does not expedite mailing, or provide a guaranteed delivery time
- Adult Signature Required service must be purchased at the time of mailing
- No record of an Adult Signature Required service item is maintained at the office of mailing
