What is Caller Service?
Caller Service is available for a fee if you require more than standard free carrier service, have more than five PO Boxes at one location, or receive more mail than can be delivered to the largest PO Box. It is available to residential customers as well as businesses. Caller Service is usually used by large businesses and institutions with many separate departments (e.g., banks, universities, prisons, and mortgage companies), including some with unique ZIP codes like the IRS, which has addresses that are only used for taxpayer letters or payments mailed through the USPS.
- Early Morning Mail: You can generally pickup your mail in the morning and take care of business earlier in the day. You may still pickup your mail later in the day, if you prefer. Pick up must be arranged with the Post Office. Mail availability via Caller Service will most likely be during low activity times at the Post Office.
- Security: Checks, dividend payments, and other valuable correspondence are secure.
- Separate Business Address: You can separate your business mail from your personal mail. That makes it easier to keep track of checks, orders, responses and important correspondence.
- Accessibility: You can easily retrieve your mail during Post Office™ operating hours.
- Travel Convenience: You can go away on business or vacation trips without worrying about your mail – no need to request a Hold Mail while you are gone. Your mail can pile up fast - we strongly recommend you advise your local Post Office BEFORE you head out of town, especially if you will be away for more than 5 days.
Caller Service is associated with a virtual or PO Box number and requires incoming mail be addressed to that virtual or PO Box number (not a street address). However, if you have a street address, you may still get free delivery by the Carrier.
With Caller Service, you pick up your mail at the Post Office call window or loading dock during the time period designated by your Local Post Office. Anyone authorized to pick up the mail at the call window or loading dock must be listed on the Caller Service application and must bring appropriate Acceptable Forms of Identification when picking up the mail.
Note: Caller Service is cancelled with a written notice, failure to pay the required fees, or by submitting a permanent Change of Address (COA). (The postmaster may also terminate service if any standards are violated.)
Enterprise Post Office Boxes Online (ePOBOL) allows customers to open, close, and pay for PO Boxes, Caller Service Boxes, and Reserve Boxes online using the Enterprise System (EPS). ePOBOL allows for a centrally managed, secure, online solution for customers with PO Boxes, Caller and Reserve Services. Customers without an EPS account are not able to apply for or renew Caller and Reserve Services at a retail counter.

What is Reserve Service?
Reserve Service is a service that can only be used in conjunction with a caller box number and is often reserved for “future use”. This means you can use it, for example, when running high volume promotional mailings for business purposes, or when you want to distinguish between types of mail you receive at your caller number address.
Reserve Service is also beneficial when your mail volume starts to grow and you don’t want to have to change your PO Box or virtual Caller Service number.
Remember: To order Reserve Service, you must have an active caller service number.
How much do these services cost?
Caller Service fees are paid on an annual basis. If using the service with a PO Box (POB), add the cost of your POB to the total, yearly fee. Reserve numbers must be paid on an annual basis and expire on December 31. Check with your local Post Office on fees and setting up Reserve Service to meet your mailing needs.
