  • Library Mail is an economical shipping solution for qualified items generally used by qualified libraries, schools, nonprofit organizations, universities, and museums to mail specific types of Package Services matter that meet additional eligibility standards.
  • Qualified items and Package Services matter eligible for Library Mail include books, sound recordings, and periodicals.
  • See the Domestic Mail Manual for additional information on eligible senders and addressees and qualified mailings and items.
  • Packages can weigh up to 70 lbs. and measure up to 108 inches in combined length and distance around the thickest part.
  • Packages are to show the name of the school, non-profit organization, library, etc. in the address or return address.

  • Library Mail is not sealed against postal inspection. Contents can be inspected by the Postal Service to insure pricing eligibility.
