What are the Shipping Options for Small Business Owners?

There are five shipping options available in addition to depositing shipments at a Post Office™ facility.

  1. Leave it for your letter carrier when they deliver your mail. This may be limited to the thickness of the maipiece, the weight of the mailpiece and the room your letter carrier has in their vehicle.
  2. Deposit in a Collection Box. This may be limited depending on the weight or thickness of the mailpieces.
  3. Deposit in your business mailbox. This may be limited depending on the weight or thickness of the mailpieces.
  4. Package Pickup is a requested next day (or other designated day) service. There is no extra charge for the pickup (regardless of the number of items requested for pickup). Pickup will occur with mail delivery or collection. Individual items cannot exceed 70 pounds or 130 inches in total length and girth. Free package pickup service can be scheduled up to a year in advance.
    • To qualify for free Package Pickup Service, your pickup must include a Priority Mail Express® shipment, a Priority Mail® shipment, an international shipment, or a returns package; packages of other mail classes may also be picked up, in combination with the four aforementioned products.
  5. Scheduled same day pickup is available with Pickup on Demand® service. There is a fee for Pickup on Demand® service per trip regardless of the number of items scheduled for pickup. Individual items cannot exceed 70 pounds or 108 inches in total length and girth. Subject to availability.

Notes:

  • Mail pieces bearing postage stamps for postage and weighing more than 10 oz. or measuring more than 1/2-inch in thickness must be brought to an employee at a Post Office™ retail counter.
  • All mail must have the same return information as the location where the mail is being picked up from.
